BBC Sing Hallelujah - Supporting Children in Need

"Sing Hallelujah is a nationwide project which encourages people to find their voice and discover the joy of singing through Handel's famous "Hallelujah Chorus". Sing Hallelujah is a project from the BBC, led by BBC Radio 3, and English National Opera (ENO).

Radio 3 will be marking the Sing Hallelujah project with a range of programmes, including 'The Choir on Sunday evenings, and the innovative English National Opera production of Handel's Messiah to be broadcast on Radio 3 on 25th December taken from a live recording from the London Coliseum.

2009 marks the 250th anniversary year of Handel's death and everyone from beginners to established choirs is invited to learn the Hallelujah Chorus, with the help of the BBC and ENO, and encouraged to perform the work during November and December."

BBC Radio Gloucestershire will be recording a performance by Cheltenham Choral Society of the Hallelujah Chorus on Sunday 6th December at Bethesda Methodist Church in Cheltenham.  For more information on how to join us for this recording, please contact BBC Radio Gloucestershire via the following link:  Celebrate and Sing Hallelujah
